telephone conferences. My role as a notary is to view the ID & administer the oath. I arrange for payment upfront, and usually leave after I've administered the oath. The Judge sometimes dismisses me, but I never stay for the hearing or testimony.
I know your role in VT is different, but I still don't know why you would see this as anything more than it is--a notary to administer the oath.
