Had a GNW appointment at the V.A. - doc preparer (buddy of vet in hospice) said he'd had docs prepared with guidance from an attorney, and that attorney told him HE could be a witness, even though he was named in the will. Well, I expressed my doubts but hey, he talked to an attorney so who am I to argue?
Talked to one of the attorneys I work for - she said no - he can't be a witness...
Now today, google search, I find the wording and Probate Code I quoted. Guess you're never too old to learn - or too educated.
Now, is it legal to do it? Yes... Is it best practice and a good idea? IMO absolutely not. |
