Call your E&O carrier before doing anything else. E&O policies are "claims made" so the company you have now is the co you call. It will provide advice & legal counsel.

If you violated TX notary law by not maintaining a journal, well, I don't want to think about what may happen.

Why is the journal entry requested? You may be able to review the document in question & verify that you performed the notarization, or the situation may be more serious.

This is an example of why it is important to maintain E&O coverage which provides legal counsel. the 4 year premium is generally less than 1 hour of attorney time.
