There was a thread related to this just yesterday, so scroll down... Someone posted a link to a refurbished 4350 dtn printer for about $250. That's what I'm using - and the most recent HP model (55 ppm) I'm aware of that can be found within a reasonably affordable range, if refurbished. My last several printers were mostly purchased from eBay or Amazon. I've been careful about choosing vendors and have had very good luck with that approach.
Like Cheryl, I'm also a fan of HP printers. If you buy a refurbished HP printer that's designed for a high volume work group setting, you have a very high quality piece of equipment that can handle a high volume of printing over the long haul that's our business calls for. (And, of course, you never have to worry about replacing drums, since the drum is part of the cartridge.)
An Orange button search here (or even Google, which sometimes does an even better job of searching posts here) will provide lots of discussion on this topic.
