 There's a little silver lining around tax filing deadline

this year for those impacted by natural disasters across the country.

The IRS announced this year's tax-filing deadlines have been extended for Santa Barbara and Ventura County residents and businesses after the Disaster Declaration for the Thomas Fire and Montecito Mudslide (aka 1/9 Debris Flow). Everyone's 2017 tax filings are due on April 17th this year, but if you're in the SB or VT counties, you now have until April 30th. That's two more weeks to put it off.

We'll take what we can get. Our home in Carpinteria foothills burned to the ground on December 29.
