I originally wrote this in response to the thread below about bringing national attention to the issue of RON by sending lots of messages, emails and letters, but I believe it's too important to get lost falling off the page...
To everyone reading this, if you want to save YOUR business, then taking some kind of action is YOUR responsibility. If we all do our part, there MAY be a chance of stopping the roll-out and acceptance of RON country-wide. If most do nothing, then there's probably little to no chance.
I don't know if this is encouraging or not, but some lawyers DO get it [in response to comment below by Lee/AR accurately saying that even some attorney's don't get this issue]. I had a chance today to mention it to my cousin, who has been one of the top attorneys in LA. His comment? "That's just plain wrong!" He's handled lots of litigation for big corporations in his day, but he'd never heard of RON. I think that's probably the case for many others, too. The proponents are trying to ram it through before most people have any clue what's going on.
Your letters don't have to be long or fancy or go into great detail. A few statements, a few links as reference is all that's needed. They may not pay attention to the first message they get, but if they start seeing more and more, there's a much better chance that it might get onto someone's radar. I recommend as targets your Congressional Representative and both your Senators.
