FYI, a tarantula, while fearsome looking with their little hairs, is not lethally poisonous, but mildly venomous.
It can use its fangs to inflict a bite, or it can use its urticating (barbed and mildly venomous) abdominal hairs to cause soft tissue or eye irritation. Fortunately, while painful and aggravating, the tarantula's fangs or or hairs appear to cause no long term damage in most cases.. Scorpions are though, mostly found in the desert.
Scorpions, on the other hand, are venomous. ... Most species possess a sting comparable to that of a bee sting, but a few scorpion species have a venomous sting that can be lethal to humans. Scorpion venom is a neurotoxin, a chemical that affects the nervous system, ultimately killing or paralyzing their prey.
