| I did not see this coming up in the past on the forum. I received a phone call from a woman who wanted me to notarize a photograph of her mother who was not able to leave her home. The mother's military ID had expired and the local military base told the woman to have her mother's photograph "notarized". I explained that notaries in Iowa could make certified copies of documents but I had never heard of "notarizing" photographs. I also explained there is more to notarizing than the notary just signing and affixing the seal. I suggested she call the Secretary of State's office for further information. Afterwards it occurred to me, why would the mother even need a new military ID if she never left home. |
