There is a company named Veritext which seems to be the equivalent of a signing service for court reporters. As with signing services, their scheduler doesn't always know all the details at the time the appointment is set up. Being able to deal with a wider range of scenarios would give a notary a better chance of getting the gig. Of course one would have to be clear when the appointment is set up that the fee would depend on how the situation develops. A fixed price agreed in advance would probably not be feasible. |
