so it is disturbing to hear a big wig at a national title company would stoop to the kind of fraud and greed that this executive performed to get his daughter into USC. He lost his job in his field and will never work in the title industry again. It's a felony and people are going to prison! I'm sure events like this don't help a title company's image, it made national news. Yet notaries are held to the highest standards in the wake of lower fees across the country. This was a big hit on the company's reputation as a leader in the title world. The title world is a competitive industry. It will be interesting to see how many will be in business in a few years, as some companies are struggling. This impacts how these companies use notaries, i.e. using platforms to find notaries to sign their loans. As far as the Chinese girl whose family paid $6.5M to get their daughter into USC, well, what is her future going to be like? Will be interesting to see. Nonetheless, these events are indicators of just how low people will go to "buy" institutions' favor for their children. Just disgusting.
