| I am frustrated being told that all the WA notaries accept passports for identification. They think there is something wrong with me when I don't. I am so very tempted to follow these transactions and report the notaries that are doing it when I have already confirmed the borrower doesn't possess a scrap of satisfactory identification. Frustrating to get a bad wrap for following the law because others won't. Checked my latest transaction out and the last notary that accepted this fellow's passport is seasoned and on this board as a full time individual. She will likely go do it again. Gives the rest of us a bad name. Title company vendor management knows it is not permitted as they sent out notification telling us to not take passports but they will reassign it to another, knowing the notary is non-compliant. Dollars rule. |
