Public spirited way to get notarizations by personal know...

If you volunteer for activities in your local government, you will most likely get to know office holders who have the power to notarize. If you ever get in a tight spot because you lost your ID, or let it expire, and need a notarization to get it replaced, you can always go to your office holder friends who can ID you through personal knowledge (except in CA).
