Resign Mortgage

I did a closing in May received a call to have the Mortgage resigned and date for the same date as the closing. The Mortgage was damaged while shipping to lender. Would this be considered as back dating?

 Yes. It's backdating. You can only notarize on the current -  MW/VA on 7/1/15 6:32pm
