I won't do a signing for less than $100, which means I turn down a lot of signings for $65-$75. The amount of work involved is the same in each case--that doesn't go down, it continues to grow. There is a trend to pay NSA's lower and lower fees. If most notaries were willing to accept $65-$75, the $100+ fees would go away. Next we'd see fees offered at $45-$50 on average (I've already seen them). I would be making a tough sacrifice at those low levels. I wonder why any NSA accepts low fees, what is their self-worth, work ethic? Do they dress nicely? Is their car dependable? Do they have to work two or three other jobs to make ends meet? |
