Hopefully, it's just a blip. I had one recently where a company who has always paid in less than 30 days reached 40+ on one invoice, which remained open even after a subsequent invoice was paid (that always raises red flags). This company pays by e-check. So I inquired about it, and the owner checked, said it had been paid but the check had not cleared, so she issued a new e-check immediately. Not only do checks get lost in the mail....now they get lost in cyberspace too :-)
