I get called regularly for closings that are no where near me. BUT I know what those areas take for me to give a professional quote; IF I even want to go outside of my normal travel areas. Sometimes my quotes are approved and sometimes they never call back. Sometimes I don't have time slots available for much travel at all. But that is the best part of being self-employed - I make the final decision if I even want to take the job offer.
I love working direct with title companies. And yes sometimes calls come in that aren't always as professional as you "think" they should be. We can all be guilty of that at some point in our life. Sometimes you have to pull teeth to find out the details. In my perfect world they would give just the facts - where, when, time, type of signing, faxbacks, pay and how long it takes to actually see the pay. Then I decide if the terms are acceptable. If they are not, I make my own counter back.
"No where near me" is not my kind of red flag. But again, you are self-employed and we all have our deal breakers. This is a dog eat dog business. The board here is FULL of information. Sometimes we don't like what messages are sent back on our posts. You never know what you are going to get. But if you stay in this industry, you need to thicken your skin. Be grateful for the replies that you do get. Or stay in the shadows and lurk. Wishing you the best. |
