Re: NNA test for Certification
Posted by dww of CA on 9/12/17 3:24pm Msg #582864
I've taken my fair share of these examinations since they began. They in fact do ask some pretty specific questions about loan documents in addition to ethics, professionalism, and skills test. The test is optional only if you work for signing companies who DO NOT require you to be NNA Certified. I MUST be re-certified every year because Fidelity National, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and several other lenders will NOT allow signing companies to use notaries public without this specific designation from NNA. Sooooo until notaries public decided that we should unionize this will continue spiraling in many different directions without our input and guidance. When I suggest unionizing I've had some folks on this board get worked up noting that "we aren't the teamsters". Ummm duh!!!! But many, many service industries do in fact unionize for obvious reasons. Professional caregivers unionized a few years ago because they are "independent contractors" for departments of social services without the benefits. Low and behold with each passing year, new contract negotiations take place and have netted them some fantastic benefits and recognition for the difficult work they do. We also work in an industry that isn't easy when it comes to taking care to protect everyone involved in a loan signing event.
IMHO its time to organize across the states and make our voices heard!
