IMO too many people have no clue what a notary actually does

or what is required for a notarization. There are probably many situations where a notary who is an employee is given a stack of papers to "sign & stamp". I'm not saying it's right, only that IMO it is a common occurrence. Many banks have stopped doing notarizations, probably for the same reasons. ;-(
