It will take months, and years, to recover. No businesses were destroyed but have a big mop up job ahead. San Ysidro Ranch where the Kennedy's honeymooned was destroyed, as was Casa De Maria, Montecito's famous retreat. They will rebuild.
The folks who perished were the ones who heard the rumbling of boulders and rushing muddy water and went to investigate, then were swept away. Who knew? A horrible nightmare for family and friends as numerous memorial services took place this week. Very sobering for the entire Central Coast community. Let the healing begin. |
