There is absolutely no reason for a signing service to weasel its way into our general notary work. It's a simple process for the signer - a google search and a phone call. If a notary has done their marketing for GNW in their local area (which I stay within my county due to the size of it) then it's a simple matter to find a notary - not to mention banks, UPS stores, and other pack-n-ship outlets all have notaries on staff.
In this original case the bank just had to google for a local notary - no need to involve another service to dice and slice our fees. In the meantime, OP needs to market to their local businesses and banks to avoid this scenario in the future.
