ChattNotary, I wouldn't do it either. We might be able to check off all the blocks of Notary rules to convince ourselves that we can notarize this POA, but are we really doing the client a favor, especially the child. Only you know what was revealed in the conversation, and if your first gut reaction is not to do it, then stick with it. I think your advice to contact an attorney was wise. This was a court ordered guardianship and it probably needs to be re-visited now that the guardian is incarcerated. |
