Most of my business is within a 7-8 mile radius, so I'd really sell myself short with that type of schedule.
I have separate pricing arrangements for loan signing and for GNW. For loan signing, I generally use a flat rate that's enough to cover all my expenses plus make sure there's a reasonable level of profit. Makes it easier for clients, where there's more likely to be repeat business and we can fairly factor in having things "balance out".
For GNW, in my state we're fortunate to be able to charge a nice fee per signature, so I separate that out, then charge mileage based on distance. (Extra services have additional fees added, i.e. that doesn't include printing, scanning, trips to drop off docs, etc.) For travel, I have a base rate, then add $10 per each additional 5 mile radius (1 way) from my home base. Seems to work well in this market, but everyone's situation is different, so we have to go with whatever works for us. |
