Somewhere here there has to be *some* premise liability coverage; there's obviously liability due to a "huge crack in the walkway" and the fact that the walkway was unlit. You're an invitee on the premises...sooo
Get the name of the tenant's (signer's) insurance company along with the policy number and phone number; Also get the name of the property owner's insurance company together with the policy number and phone number; call each company, confirm an active policy and get a claim opened - then request a certified copy of each policy.
Document your injuries and keep copies of all your medical bills...for the future...but give them nothing now. Be careful how much you tell them too. You may want to get a personal injury lawyer who can handle all the details for you and won't get paid til you get a settlement.
I don't think the law firm has any obligation to you at all - you're an independent contractor; you were not an employee -
Last piece of advice? Don't do these deals any more.
