Years ago, average fees were $150 in my area. However, supplies, fees, gas, etc have increased but many companies want to cut fees but want more work (scan backs, etc). Having a smart phone is a must, so there are extra costs for that. I have increased my fees for GNW but fees for closings have remained the same. XYZ company dropped me from their "preferred notary list" when I refused to cut my fees to less than $100 for e-docs. They also told me the fee was flat without consideration of mileage.
