I have heard rumors over the years that CA DMV will send home Field Agents (inspectors) to the HOME of a bed bound person or senior to take the State ID application form DL 44 and information and process it. This way a bed bound person does not need to actually go into the DMV. Is this just rumor and urban legend or does the CA DMV in fact provide this service? I wanted clarification so for the past two days I have been looking on the California DMV website, listened to many voice recordings and when lucky transferred to the next person who can not help me. As of this writing I am on hold for 15 mins. waiting for an agent to hopefully answer my question. Not keeping my fingers crossed. Would love it if some notary has actual information or experience for this possible service. I don't want to give out misinformation to clients when dealing with their elderly parents.
FYI: After holding for 15 mins. (I wasn't going to give up) the person finally picked up my call. I asked the question and then the phone went dead. I guess they didn't want to answer my question. I am beginning to think this is all an urban legend in CA. I did find out they do have this service in North Carolina.
TIA |
