Palm Beach, FL has been using this and license plate readers for years. There are only a few bridges that lead on and off the island, they know everyone who enters, tracks you, how long you stay, where you go and when you leave. Main street all high end shops and private banks all have facial recognition on the street. When you are approaching the bridge, they let you know you are being watched and tag is read. If the rare event there is a crime on the island, the bridges all go up, no way off, you are caught pretty quickly.
