I did a signing for this company a couple of years ago. It was close and just about met my normal fee. What I didn't realize is that they expected me to deliver the docs, once signed, to the escrow officers house at night...about 20 miles away. I couldn't get in touch with anyone so I went ahead and completed the assignment. Had to leave the docs with the son since the lady wasn't home. Got a call a few days later that the note was not with the docs. The note was the 2nd or 3rd page!
Anyway, they wanted me to go back and have the borrower sign a new note, I told them I would but for a fee. I explained that my responsibility was to deliver the docs where I was instructed to do and that was the end of my assignment. I did what I was paid to do. Anyway, apparently someone from escrow had to go out (supposedly) and get the borrower to sign a new note. A lot of hassle...though I still got paid my fee. Would NEVER work with this company again!!!!! |
