I agree. What's really odd is that their customer service is vulnerable to social engineering unless you have an account PIN. When you create an account PIN, they send you a text with an authentication code - basic two-step authentication - followed by an email alerting you that an account PIN has been created or changed. Which raises the question - why isn't an account PIN required rather than optional?
I've been a Verizon customer for over 20 years and have really had no problems with them, but might have to rethink that based on their lax security. My internet provider, Spectrum, is offering cellphone service, and I'm in the process of researching if it's worth making the jump. If anyone is familiar with Spectrum cell service, I'd like to hear about the experience. Feel free to either PM me or move it to Leisure if you think that discussion is not appropriate here. |
