That would be nice if it were true.
Premiums will continue to go up - they ALWAYS go up. They will just not go up as much, depending on what's being compared. In some cases the increases will be less; in other cases, especially with people between 50-64, the premiums and deductibles would be higher than they would be under the ACA. For someone over the age of 50, the challenge will be to survive until they reach the Promised Land at age 65 when Medicare kicks in.
My favorite dumb, out-of-touch-with-reality comment by a Republican is from KellyAnne Conway, who said that anyone who loses their Medicaid coverage can just go out and get a job. Maybe all those old folks in nursing homes and sick kids can apply for one of the fantasy jobs in the coal mining industry, which I hear is about to make a big comeback and will need workers... |
