As reported by The Washington Examiner, a right-wing media source cited here recently several times by FGX/NJ as a reputable news source, Trump and Hanitty were totally oblivious to the significance of "Retreat" being played during the lowering of the flag as they were discussing the need for NFL players to respect the flag. While the ceremony was going on, Trump sat there joking on live TV about why the bugle was playing,
One would think the Commander-in-Chief would have been briefed on this ceremony that is performed every day when the flag is lowered, especially when he traveled to a facility where it would happen while he was there.
Do not lecture us about respect for the flag when you do not show respect for it yourself.
