They're not "his" troops - under Title 32 the governors are still in charge of their own National Guard.
Texas already has National Guard at our border. They're not actively securing the border, as in patrolling and making arrests, they are there supporting Border Patrol with things like surveillance. That's probably the role the other state National Guards will take.
Huge waste of money, and all because Trump saw something on "Fox & Friends" about an immigrant caravan that has been happening once or twice a year for the past five years at least. |
