One of the more idiotic statements ever made by the left.
Of course more violent crimes are committed by citizens than illegal aliens. Shear numbers would point to that fact. We outnumber them hopefully by a huge number. So that statement is blatantly obvious, and no one can contest that fact. Even the hotel.com spokesman Captain Obvious would be comfortable, and correct in making this statement.
Big deal.
The truth requires someone who is knowledgeable in Statistics, Probability theory and Quality Management (Deming.)
In all three disciplines, you must establish a base or bases.
The base for the citizenry can be established. We have a pretty good idea of how many citizens there are in this country.
We also have a pretty good idea of how many of these citizens commit crimes (Defects in Quality Management speak.)
So, we can come up with a metric for defects per 10,000 or crimes per 10,000, etc.
The other side of the equation is a bit more nebulous, we don’t know how many illegals there are in this country. (they are undocumented, remember?)
We also do not know how many have committed crimes. The sanctuary cities and even states do not report to the federal government, so the base is tainted.
Since we cannot establish a base, nor establish the violations, we cannot state that IF the gross numbers were equal, illegals would commit more crimes.
So, we are able to state that in total, citizens do commit more crimes than illegal criminals, however it is impossible to break it down to a per capita basis, or even defects per 10,000, or any number for any valid comparison.
All in all, the argument does not hold water.
