As I understand it, Porter is a Mormon. I haven't heard of many Mormons who are also wife-beaters, but then again they do tend to see women as inferior, so it's not all that much of a stretch. He's not Warren Jeffs, but the LDS are not what we would call a matriarchal group. Women in the LDS seem to have one primary purpose - to make more Mormons. |
