The "witch hunt" just got real
Posted by MikeC/TX of TX on 9/14/18 7:30pm Msg #72002
That clattering noise you heard was the sound of empty broomsticks falling to earth...

Manafort pleads guilty and flips. He was in the room for the meeting with the Russians at Trump Tower. He knows why the RNC suddenly modified its platform to be more friendly to Russia and, more importantly, whether the Russians secretly funneled money to the Trump campaign. Prosecutors usually do a full debrief before they offer a plea deal, so Mueller probably already knows most of what Manafort knows - and a plea deal would not have offered unless the information was useful and/or credible.

Next indictments - Junior and Jared?

If you thought Trump was unhinged before this, wait until Mueller starts going after members of his family.

And here's the kicker - the Mueller probe has cost about $16 million so far. The plea deal for Manafort included forfeiture of roughly $46 million in assets, which he will not get back even if Trump decides to pardon him (which would be a stupid decision, but that's for another thread). So the Special Counsel's investigation has now paid for itself PLUS turned a profit of about $30 million.

The WH and Trump's TV lawyer Rudy have said that none of this has anything to do with Trump. That may be true, but consider this - senior members of his campaign team have pleaded guilty to federal charges. Trump is known to be a micro-manager; he has always been aware of everything being done is his name. Connect the dots...
