I don't know about that issue, but at least some of it is talking apples and oranges. You can't compare the rainy northwest with what's happening in CA. The fires in So Cal, at least, were brush fires, not forest fires. And the link provided didn't say anything about the extreme several year drought that's made brush tinder dry or explain the worsening of seasonal winds that together caused the fires to explode so rapidly. (And FWIW, I don't think McClintock is an expert on forestry management.) |
