battles with cancer I was covered by my health insurance in my corporate Executive Management position, but there was still a HEFTY amount I paid out of pocket. For the third battle with cancer I no longer had corporate insurance (COBRA had expired) and as a two-time cancer survivor/thriver - every insurance company that I applied to for health coverage had an eerily similar response:
"We currently cannot cover you with health insurance. Apply again in ten years with no cancer recurrences during that interim period of time."
