Most services are 12,000 increments. It uses Mobile1 synthetic oil which is designed for 12,000 miles. Hubby changes ours at 5,000 miles but that is just him. All our other vehicles he changes at 2,000 miles. There is a cabin filter which will also need changed. On the dash, you will be able to tell when something needs serviced because a wrench will display. There are not that many Smarts on the road. Like I said, we've been coast-to-coast twice, and each trip, saw only 5 of 10 with each trip. Denver has quite a few blue & whites where people rent by the mile. They are very low maintenance.
