I thought I tore a groin muscle. I had no pain in my hip at all. So I strapped on a belt and worked until I couldn't. I would need a day or two to recuperate then try again. After three weeks I leaned against the counter and felt a small but sharp pain on the side of my hip. Uh-oh... That's when I called and was sent in for X-rays.
