New oportunity to make it through very rough times

My last loan signing was the day after Thanksgiving. I still do foreclosures but they have gone done for HUD. I worked on one RM as a loan officer and it closed on Dec 17th. As always I was looking to do something else as I love to stay busy as I know most of you do. My house is spotless and I had way too much time on my hands.

My daughter had gotten a job online working for 1800 Flowers but it does not pay that well.
I searched and searched and applied to many companies. I need to have a steady stream of money coming in that I can count on each week. I got a got online doing techincal support for Tmobile. I spent 3 weeks 6-10pm in training and each week had to pass a test. I had to get
a 90 or above and I got a 100 on all test. Then took a final test and got 100. I started the real job on Dec 23. I love it, I am in a special department and I troubleshoot problems with the Sidekicks. I volunteered to work 2 shifts and Xmas day. People that worked Xmas day were entered in a raffle and I won a $400 bonus. I had 3 people in one day ask to speak to my supervisor and wanted to praise me. They said they had called several times before and no one could help them. That made me feel fantastic.

The best thing about this job is I do not have to leave home. No Gas and I can work in my PJ's. I have a recliner chair with heat and massage and I have my keyboard in my lap with my headset on. I am doing this part-time right now but can work extra hours if I want.

I can still do signings in the day but I can no longer wait and wait for edocs that will make me late for my shift. I had to cancel on signing that was supposed to be at noon, did not get the docs until 1:30pm. I am afraid this is the nature of the notary signing business and it will never change. Thats why I need something steady. I do work for a personal injury attorney but that is not steady either.

Christmas was hard because I had to hang on to money I need to pay bills.

I do not know how everyone else is doing but I have a car payment, cell phone bill, etc. I can not wait 90 days for payment. I checked my bank account and my paycheck will be in my bank tonight. I jumped for joy, now I can make my car payment that is due today.

Thank god I do have a husband that pays most of the bills but my money has always helped and my money pays for vacations and extras in addition to my bills.

I am hoping everyone had a great Christmas and have a fantastic New Year.

Good Luck with Tmobile, sounds like a good fit. I know what you mean, this christmas the tree did not have many gifts under it.

Tough times for sure this year in the real estate business.

Bobby, I'm guessing she searched Hi/Low using

Google...try telecommute, telecommuting searches until you hear back from Margaret.

Hi Bobby,

Go to Go to http://www.ratracerebellion.com/ or www.wahm.com (stands for work at home moms) I would read the message boards on work at home moms to read about the good companies to work for. Many companies do not hire work at home employees directly. I work for a company called Cloud 10 www.cloud10corp.com They have many projects after you have signed up that they will offer you. You wait till one is offered that fits your schedule and you feel you can do. We have Supervisors and Mentors that help us every step of the way and they are fantastic. You get constant feedback, they listen to your calls and keep telling you that you are doing a great job. This is something that is not always done in the business world. They asked for volunteers to work extra on Christmas day. I worked my normal shift and then worked 10pm-2am. During the 10-2am shift they had raffles each hour. They gave away gift cards, cell phones and CASH. I was jamming and took back to back calls all night and I was lucky enough to win the big cash prize of the night. Plus much praise from my supervisors. Many people had gotten Sidekicks as Xmas presents and I was activating accounts and basically getting people set up on the internet, AIM, setting up user names, etc.

You have to have a super quiet work environment to work at home. My husband took off the door to my office and replaced it with 2 solid doors with insulation between them. I had to put a lock on the inside so I would not be interrupted by accident. My family is getting used to me being home but not being available until I have a break or dinner break.

It is working out great for me so far.

Warning, warning, warning, Will Robinson!

We all understand the need to be uninterrupted, but please keep safety in mind.

With that double door seal, be sure that you have adequate ventilation! Also, people need to be abnle to open the doors _in emergency situations._ Murphy's law says that tripping over a wire, etc., will happen only when the door is locked....

Thanks Ernest, I know what you mean and that should not be a problem.

Sorry but I HAD to laugh! It was a dotcom mommy website that intro'd me to the concept of doing signings.

Yeah, you do not have to be a "mommy" to want to work from home. All my children are grown.

Re: New oportunity//Way to go Margaret

It is so hard to find something that you can do from home. "Great job on your test". I hate to take tests. I would love to have a dependable pay check and still own my own business. Blessings on your new adventure. I hope you check in once in a while to let us know how you are doing. Happy New Year!!

Re: New oportunity//Way to go Margaret

This is one of those perfect jobs for you that we all dream of having. I am very happy for you Margaret - it really is relaxing getting the anxiety levels under control (when it comes to money).
I also am looking around, hope I find the same level of comfort you have achieved! Congrats!

Re: New oportunity//Way to go Margaret

I got my first paycheck in my bank today by direct deposit. What I love is today is payday and they posted it last night so I have my money on the same day as payday. What was hard was you had to spend two weeks in training and you only got paid for the training if you passed, it you failed, no pay. So it was very stressful during the training, I had homework that had to be done before each class. Training was Monday-Friday and I studied on the weekends and did my homework that was due on Monday. It was all "Open Book" if you want to call it that. They had a database that was "Google" run. The good thing is I have always been good at doing google searches. The training started out with 50 students and when we were done, only 22 people were left. The paycheck I got today for the training, whew, I would have been very upset if I did not pass.
