And this is why we stick our fees and professionalism!!

This is a second signing for this client. Please do not send the same notary as you did last time (xxxxxxxxx)there were problems.

Just because a Siging Agent charges a higher fee,

it doesn't necessarily mean the signing will be error free.
A signing agent that charges a lower fee may be excellent - with many error free signings.
To lump the Signing Agents that do not take low-ball fees: Excellent Sining Agents.
To lump the Signing Agents that take low-ball fees or less than most Signing Agents:
Have many errors during a signing - do not know what they're doing is so predudicial.
I know not all Signing Agents are "Top-notch", but I don't think how much they charge defines their level of knowledge.

I think what PE is saying This loan has to be re-signed a

2nd time due to problems with the notary who signed it the first time. If they would have sent a professional notary and paid a decent fee, this probably would not have happened. I have mistakenly been sent an email with wording like that which I know I wasn't supposed to see. I've seen names of notaries that they will not use.

There are so many folks working for $75, they dont care...

In every corner of this country, there is a $75 notary and a few $50 notaries sprinkled in. Some people panic when they have nothing to do - no work. I, on the other hand, work on my garden, try new recipes and catch up with friends. Everytime I turn down a low-ball fee, I know exactly who the person is in my area who will pick it for much less. More power to her.

In short, we will always have to deal with low-ball companies and low-ball notaries. Neither is going away. My .02

There are a lot more $50 Notaries than you think!

I know of at lease 5 that do about 20 closings a week.

20/wk @ $50? By the time they pay for toner, paper & gas,

they probaly can't pay the light bill - forget mtge/ rent or food. Bankruptcy is problay just around the corner. They're probably netting a cool $2.50 / hr & patting themselves on the back all the way to their piggy bank! They DO say ignorance is bliss - how sad.
