HOLY COW! THANK YOU FOR POSTING!
We are always updating our NotRot files and did notice the decrease...
Have you or anyone notice the increase in Notary Public paid directories?! Sort of nuts!

I would just love it if I could export that data. Sort of like we can export the notary data on the SOS website. I'd love to be able to sort by number of stars. Generate my own positive/negative list.
But alas...
Someday I may even finish sorting them manually. :0)

I don't think it would serve much purpose since it can change from day to day depending on posters comments and besides, I don't think our gracious host would appreciate his site being used like that, IMO What I like about the stat is the "good" are getting better and the bottom feeders are showing themselves to the members. It also shows the middle of the roaders are getting better and that is a bigger surprise.

i wish Harry would bring back the # notaries found when you
Do a zip code search. I think that was very useful information.

Re: i wish Harry would bring back the # notaries found when you
You can already do that from your States' Notary site, just enter in zip (if you're looking for Fl notaries).

OK am I missing something...if I follow you correctly, your
first column represents this year's stats (totaling 498 samplings) and the second is from your stats of last year (total = 421). Is this because you are reporting on the companies that were not listed on last year list? Or because it does not reflect the companies that have no rating at all?
Since there are fewer companies listed currently than last year, it seems to me that the first column would total less than the second. But then I never took statistics in high school or college, so can someone let me know where I went off track! Reminds me of those *%#! word problems on the SAT!

At least it shows that we're actively using this most
valuable tool here on N/R. I know I post for both great companies as well as the bad ones.

I'm curious as to the effect of defunct companies that are listed in SC. I've found some that have been out of business for a few years, but since they still have an entry, I suppose they are included in your total of 520. Correct?

Okay 520 as of today, last year this time 631
Now, the companies that are out of bus and have not be removed, I don't know. My count was just what was avail and nothing more. Questions about it will provide needed answers. That it. Anybody can do what I did in five minutes.

Personally, I want the out of biz companies listed, especially the no pay companies. Notice all the "new" Signing Services popping up in this bad economy. They are just wolves in sheep's clothing if you ask me. Remember CTC Notary, stiffed a bunch of Notaries and has the audacity to try and open up another SS called Golden Bear. The phone numbers were the same, that's how I knew not to work for them. I keep all the old company names, phone numbers, addresses and names of people involved. When a "new" company shows up, I search my database to see if they are a wolf wearing a new sheep skin.
