Verrrry interesting, indeed! However, it could possibly be a failing of our educational system in that people can't do math any more. Recently, a seemingly fairly bright person right here on NR said that 2.75% of $10 was $.03. Nah. Who's got the right answer to that? Yes, this is a test.

2.75% of $10 ???
twenty seven cents, plus a few Green Stamps, if you can still find any.

In 1954, my 1st real(?) job, was $.25. I did delievey, after school, for a drug store on Broadway, near Breckenridge Park, in San Antonio Tx. I did this by bicycle. It was for 4 hours. I sweep the floors, took the trash out, etc before I left. That took about 30 minutes. When I wasn't busy I got to sit a the soda fountain and study and could eat or drink any thing forn the soda fountain, which carried Blue Bell Ice Cream. Mrs A, the owner's mother had a tatooed number on her arm from the Nazis. The son I worked for was violinist, a member of the San Antonio Symthony. After Mrs A's dealth, the family moved to Israel where Mr P was a menber of the Israel National Symthony. Mr P's son, Richard and I had some 7th grade classes together. He became a nuclear physicist and worked for the State of Israel Nuclear programs. A walk down memory lane. Thanks
