Copy Paper vs Multi-Purpose Paper
Posted by Luckydog of FL on 6/21/21 1:43pm Msg #632907
I found something out last week. There is a difference between the "Copy Paper" and "Multi-Purpose" paper. I buy Multi-Purpose and never have an issue with my printer at home however I discovered when I have to scan my printed documents from the local title office who uses the large Ricoh machines, it likes to jam all the time (every few pages) when scanning or copying. She told me it's the kind of paper it's printed on. They buy only "Copy Paper" from Boise and never a problem, but I have been using Sam's Club Member's Mark Multi-Purpose and I guess their machine def. knows the difference. She said it's Copy vs Multi Purpose, no matter which brand.
It's still 20lb, 92 bright 145 whiteness, but it must have something to do with the texture. I am going to price out the difference between the two, and maybe make the switch over.
If you are having issues at home with jamming, try switching to copy paper only and see if that helps.
