DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. Against my better judgement, I went with this company, even though I had from on this forum that this company is known for not paying. When I confronted him via email/text about is, he said:

"Every single issue has been resolved. We send Deluxe E-Checks to notaries, and they often don’t see them, leading them to think we’re not paying them. At one point, we were handling 1,000 signings a month—if we weren’t paying our notaries, we’d definitely be making headlines! We maintain strict bookkeeping and ensure everything is cleared through our books. The issue with TAWC below is that we attempted to send her the check three times, but she did not receive it. I have emails from each instance where notaries misplaced e-checks that were emailed to them." (unable to send snipping because I can't attach).

I have yet to be paid and now I am being ignored. What's the worse is that he put a bad review for me on Notary Resume and that is causing other companies not to work with me. So to avoid what I am going through, I am just warning you.

Lender found me on Notary Rotary!
By  Yoli/CA on 5/5/25 5:15pm

Had a good surprise this morning. Got a text message from a loan originator who found me here, on Notary Rotary! Of course, I accepted the assignment. Working direct is always best! Smile

Signing was for today in my town. It was a hybrid purchase, only 76 pages and paying $175. Docs were ready within the hour of acceptance. Scans would be nice but not necesssary if a choice of scanning or making today's pickup. I made sure package made today's pickup.

HELP! Resizing JPG photos
By  Cheryl Elliott on 5/5/25 11:57am

So I need to upload photos but first need to resize to 640x480. There are 50 photos. Does anyone know how to resize all at once, or am I not able to do this and must resize one by one?

I performed an inspection of a winery/tasting room facility for investors and need to get this done today if possible.

What a PITA!
By  Cheryl Elliott on 4/30/25 10:50pm

Had a purchase of property for this evening. I get the docs at 3pm. While looking them over, I see there are four documents that belong to another borrower for a property in the same subdivision. I call escrow, they are closed. I called the lender, she was furious. Nothing we could do at the last minute. So I removed the docs and these will have to be docusigned. Even the UPS label is for the other borrower. I can't use it! I scanned it the package that was signed. It is supposed to close tomorrow.

This escrow company has been fired!

He passed away, I filed an extension until I find someone. In need ASAP!

Thanks fellow notaries!!

Question for CA/FL notaries
By JanetK_CA on 4/30/25 5:16pm

Anyone remember when CA changed the law to no longer allow "personal knowledge"?

I had a FL Deed rejected because I replaced the FL certificate of acknowledgment with a CA-compliant one, and they're saying I should have stated whether I used personal knowledge or identification. Identification is *always* required in CA for any notarization for some time now. I'm now looking up documentation, while several other things going on...

ClearEdge Title
By  LynnNC on 4/30/25 3:18pm

I filed an extension on my taxes and am working on them now.

I handled 15 closings for ClearEdge Title in 2024, but haven't had a loan signing from them since 10/24/2024. I sent an email recently to make sure the schedulers still have me listed for this area and I didn't received a response.

I should have received a 1099 from them, but didn't. I just tried to call and there was no answer, no recording that it was ClearEdge Title, just a recording to leave a message.

I wonder if they have gone out of business.

Estate Planning Packages Usual Fee
By VenturaCA on 4/28/25 11:20am

Hi All, I work with several Estate Planning Attorneys, which is my favorite kind of work to do. It's usually in an office or at the client's' home, but sometimes, it's at a hospital or long-term care facility. There is no paperwork to print and prep. I verify their identities and sign and stamp after checking over the attorney's pre-filled information. There is usually Will witnessing which I don't charge for. The whole appointment usually takes about an hour. There are usually around 8 signatures to be notarized for one person and 16 for two people. I usually add a $25 travel fee for my area and $35 for outside of my area, within a 30 mile range, and sometimes add a hazard fee for hospitals. I don't charge the usual $15 per signature notarized since there are so many signatures. I usually reduce it to $10 per signature and then discount further to reach somewhere between $150 and $175. I'm in California, by the way, where the state allows up to $15 per signature notarized. Please let me know what you charge for estate planning packages. Thank you!

Bulbs and feathers
By  Cheryl Elliott on 4/22/25 10:38pm

This week I had a loan assignment for the purchase of commercial property out n of state. The property being encumbered is huge, vineyard, lake, pool, three FT
caretakers, and a huge home. After we finished signing the package, the client invited me to tour the property, which was totally manicured, not a blade of grass out of place. We got to the chicken pen and he asked if I wanted o e of his prize roosters. I had never seen such a beautiful rooster. I did YES. Do now I need ti get busy and m akr a place for him. Admiring his colorful iris beds, I made out there too! It was a great and wonderful day!

Any one else ever gifted a rooster? Iris bulbs?

Question for Ohio Notaries or others
By Alz on 4/22/25 3:06pm

Signer is in Ohio, but the property is located in CA, thus a CA acknowledgement is included. Will you use it as is or will you modify it?

I ask because I received a text from an escrow officer stating that the Ohio notary lined out the penalty of perjury verbiage.

Any thoughts? IMJS.

Authorization to Manufacture Notary Public Seal
By VenturaCA on 4/22/25 2:29pm

Hey Friends, I sent my Authorization Letter in to NR a day or two after I received it from the California SOS. I sent it First Class Mail, which I now know was ill-advised since it appears to be lost in the mail. I sent it at least two weeks ago. I'm in Southern California, and it seems ridiculous that it should take this long to get to Des Moines. I requested a duplicate from the Secretary of State, but because of this delay, I won't be able to work next week without my new stamp. NR will send me my bond at least, and I have 30 days from the start of my new commission to go to the County Recorder's office to have my bond on file. Has anyone experienced such severe delay in mail delivery of a First Class envelope? Also, I can't seem to find the list of approved vendors on the SOS web site. Does anyone have that list? I'm thinking that, when I get the duplicate Authorization, I can have a stamp manufactured here locally so that I can work until NR can send me the Brother stamps that I want to order. Also, the Commission Letter that I received from the SOS looks different than it has in the past. It was a white sheet of paper with a blue design and a big gold seal. What I got this time looks very much like a black and white photocopy. I'm really hoping that I don't have trouble with the County Recorder's Office if they think it looks like a photocopy because it is the original of what I received. Any help is appreciated greatly.
