Re: A long response to those that replied to my "shooting" post

I agree the industry has changed, and I have only been here for 5 years. I no longer accept the fees I did when I started and charged what the person who introduced me to this business had charged. I posted several years ago about how I discovered I had worked an entire year for $3,000.00 profit. I adjusted my fees considerably after that first year, and I stick to them. I also have learned how to cut my cost more effectively to be more profitable. I am in business to make money not break even.

I also still have my integrity after 5 years. I remember handing the phone to the borrower after I called the LO so they could get their questions answered and he said, "Don't tell them you are talking to me". I then called the TC and informed them I would not close another loan that he was a party to. I still work for that TC. I remember leaving a couple sitting at their kitchen table with my apologies after a LO informed me he wanted ALL of the docs signed as if the signing had occurred on the day before.

I also work for a TC that still pays a $200 flat fee, and I determine how far I can travel for them at that fee. (P.S. They offered that fee to me.)

Les, you do not have to believe me or anyone else. Whether you do or not does not change the truth. The Only One Who Counts knows my heart and that's all that matters to me.

Like Lee, by the way, this is my latest transaction with ND...

11-24-09, 25 miles, $125, no sign (couple changed their mind at the closing table while on the phone with their LO), paid 12-30-09, full fee.

I agree that WE are in the driver's seat.
