Why can't she mentor the cousin herself? So what if she's a newer notary. They are literate, have handbooks, and internet access. There's the two heads are better than one theory at work. No NSA's are under obligation to mentor anyone. I would never dream of asking someone to be my exclusive "mentor". Now I value the information and opinions of about a dozen or so members of these boards whom I would consider to be "mentors". In fact most of them don't even know how much I value them because the bulk of what I have learned is from the posts. But whenever I have asked a question or needed advice from them individually I certainly have expressed my appreciation and gratitude. All of these "mentors" are hard working, very busy business owners so why would I expect any one of them to take me on exclusively. Nobody should expect you to either. I think that if you have ever "mentored" anyone you are a very giving person who deserves gratitude and a whole lot more.

Now I would be happy to answer questions and help others. Spending an hour or two a week would fit my schedule. But being an exclusive mentor is not something I would have the time to do. Anyone who takes the time to answer any of my questions has my gratitude and appreciation and deservedly so.
