I stopped reading this thread when posts started to go into attack mode, but I think I get the gist of what's being said. Experience is the best (if not sometimes the most painful) teacher. In our business, it's become tough enough sometimes to get paid for our time and required expenses (i.e. paper, toner...), so I determined a long time ago that I'm not risking good money after bad by financing what should be someone else's overhead.
It's easy for anyone with a credit card to set up an account with FedEx and/or UPS. If they don't have an account with either of those companies and haven't bothered to (or couldn't) set one up, that's a red flag to me. Having said that, on occasion, I've run into people who, for example, are employees at a company that doesn't do this kind of thing often and have a different set of obstacles. In those cases, I'm willing to put a couple of postage stamps on a standard size envelope to send something snail mail, but that's where I draw the line.
I hope you at least get your money back! |
