Virginia has cities that are totally independent of the counties they may be surrounded/adjacent to. They pay no county taxes and are indeed totally independent of their county counterparts.
Should the venue on documents to be notarized be changed to reflect this? "City of" vs. "County of". I have been asked to correct documents (or not) based on instructions from individuals, signing companies, title agents, etc.
Anyone else have any experiences or words of wisdom. Most county clerks tend to be lenient on this issue but others are more strict. |
