There are no valid companies anymore that I know of. Years ago was Consumer Credit Counseling was a free service just as with job service looking for jobs (before the age of computers). People do have choices. Negotiate with your CC companies yourself, or start a Bankruptcy and let all the offers to settle come in without going through with it usually accepting 10-25% of the balance or will set up a plan. Either way, your credit is dropping so it doesn't matter too much. Everything these companies do and pay them are things people can do on their own and make sure the money they pay goes towards it and not line companies pockets for a lot less...jmo
