I don't disagree with any of the comments by VT_Syrup above. My concerns, however, are mostly centered around the security of the saved videos and even more, the data that's connected to those records, which I admittedly know little about. I assume, however, that some data needs to be saved with each video recording so it can potentially be accessed at some point, if necessary.
Does anyone have any deeper knowledge of what data is saved with each record?
There have been comments here from time to time about various methods used for saving that data, be it by the platform the notary contracts with (and whomever they use for that service), or some data storage system a notary can choose to use directly. We've also all heard about data breaches at large organizations (including a credit reporting agency) over the years, so I'd think that would be pretty important.
Maybe I missed it (or didn't understand some aspect), but I don't recall reading about any guidelines anywhere addressing the security or management of the data that a RON notary is obligated to save and presumably secure. I'd think this would be a key issue, not one that just gets glossed over with assumptions (or claims) about data security.
